- What can you expect when you come to one of our
services?
- Why do we worship the way we do?
What can you expect when you come to one
of our services?
- You can expect a warm welcome at the door by our greeters!
- You can expect to find people singing passionately about the God they have
come to know and love
- You can expect to find people raising their hands and closing their eyes
as they worship God in song.
- You can expect to find people raising their voices and praising God aloud
from their heart and with their own words.
- You can also expect to find everything done decently and in order.
- You can expect to hear a sermon rich in Biblical content and practical to
help you find your way through life.
- You can expect that we'll pass around the plate and give people an opportunity
to contribute their tithes and offerings to the Lord.
Why do we worship the way we do?
- We raise our hands because the Bible says, "I want men everywhere to
lift up holy hands in prayer..." (1 Tim. 2:8)
- We allow people to speak out if they feel that the Lord has given them a
word for the congregation to hear in keeping with the gifts of the Spirit
in 1 Cor. 12.
- We sometimes allow time between songs for people to express their own words
of praise to the Lord. We view the structure of the song service as similar
to a Hallmark card: it is beautiful on it's own but to be meaningful it needs
to be personalized.
- We believe that the gathering of the saints is not a religious duty to be
simply performed, but a gathering of believer to "meet with
God." As such, we look for, pray for, believe for and long for the touch
of God's presence in our midst each time we meet.
