Reports From Some of our Care Groups
Grief Share 2010
We are continuing to offer the Grief Share program once a year, generally in the spring. The new program is to begin April 8th this year. The main emphasis of the program is to seek God for His help and healing and it is always so encouraging to see the people moving along in their journey through grief and coming out with hope and the encouragement to carry on. We plan to continue to offer this program as long as we have interested people willing to attend. Mark M. will join Evelyn and I if we have men in the group. Once again confirming the scripture that says:
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

DivorceCare Report
Dennis and Jeanne H. continued to lead this support group this past year. The 13 week course was run twice with several in each setting. Many attended who were from other local church families as well as several non-churched. Please continue to pray for this ministry for it continues to give help to those so hurting by something that is not God's perfect plan. Ron S. and I are running the present course and it is attended by seven members.

50+ FRIENDS MINISTRY
There are a lot of active "seniors" in our church family. A number of them lead areas of ministry, and that certainly makes responsibilities lighter for everyone and it's FUN to work together as a team. Thursdays have become the weekly day for activites on the whole. There is a monthly luncheon headed up by Vera K. and team and this 30 some group is supporting a Child Care Plus child. Twice a month Glenda O. leads us as a care group in a time of prayer, sharing and studying the Word with the "That the World May Know" video series. And the other Thursday is usually a baling time at the Thriftstore. As well we have done a couple of "road trips". Shirley H. looks after a monthly tea at Bastion and David A. coordinates two Sunday afternoon services monthly at Picadilly Terrace. Thank you to all who helped out in these areas during the past year. Our retired seniors are busy and active and a blessing to our church family and each other. I look forward to joining them in retirement someday!!! Until then they let me join them and help out a bit.

I enjoy leading and hosting every Tuesday morning a group of ladies who have a hunger to be serious about being WOMEN OF FAITH! They inspire me for I realize that they REALLY want to grow in their relationship with Christ. The caring and sharing is so special every time we meet.

Our group has expanded, we have been blessed with several new people, and some of the group have moved on to ministries that God has guided them into. Our bible study was one of Gloria Copeland, Gods Master plan (Excellent course). We are excited over the direction that God is taking each and every one of us.

We have 5 couples attending our Care Group, and we meet on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM
We have just completed a DVD study called Becoming a Contagious Christian presented by Lee Strobel and Mark Mittelberg. It was a great study, providing lessons on sharing our faith with our friends, co-workers, and family members.
We are now starting another series on the Religions of the World, where we will be equipped with some knowledge about other cultures and faiths that are spreading their way into our country and communities.

Our Care Group continues to be a source of encouragement, fellowship and spiritual growth to myself and the rest of our group. We are a group of 8, but always looking to welcome anyone interested in being part of a Care Group. At the moment we are going through the book of Luke, a televised series with Mark Driscoll.
